World of Warcraft players will get to celebrate the Lunar New Year on January 27th, with a series of celebrations that span the MMORPG world. Events will take place in Stormwind, Thunder Bluff, Booty Bay, and Moonglade, with the last fireworks show taking place on February 13th in Moonglade. Each capital city will have event-specific decorations, with special "elder" NPCs for players to find and venerate to receive bonus items. The festivities will also include a new boss, called Omen; the boss appears only during the Lunar New Year events and is based on the mythical character of Nian from Chinese legends, which will be the boss' name in the Chinese release of the game.
