Ballad / Poem

I am

This goes to the music of Black Sabiths Iron Man.

I am Digital Doom,
Running the Matrix is what I do.
I steal info for cash,
crash the IC and get out fast.

Nobody knows me, I am the ghost in the 'trix.
Nobody knows me, I am the ghost in the 'trix.

I am Digital Doom,
Stealing data is what I do.

Haikus

I'm lousy at haikus, but can't resist a challenge. Here's two - quantity over quality, I allus say.

The hills ring with chimes
Grass gleams in early morning
Red blood drips, swords sing.

Deep and dark, dank stone

5 Heroes at a Tavern Met

Five heroes at a tavern met,
treasure to find and blood to let.
A human knight, an elven mage,
a dwarf who didn't know his age -
two others joined them in this fight
for honor, duty and what was right.

Off they went to save fair maiden,
with swords and spells and packs all laden.
The hobbit was a ranger born,

Beer and Pretzels

It's seven at night and the house is clean;
Music from Diablo's on the CD
My dice are polished to a nice bright sheen -
We're ready to game, you'd have to agree.

Been working all day on traps and pitfalls,
On treasure, monsters and combat galore -
Dozens of pages filled with scribbled scrawls.

Campaign Journal

Dark alley, day one:
Fatal wound spurts red. Quest failed.
Never hire a thief.

Poems

Not quite song lyrics, poems may rhyme, may take a beat, may take a form or may not. From the smallest haiku to the longest epic poem, find and write them here. Aspiring poets unite under these pages.

Poems are typically written by one author, so unless the first posting allows you to do so, please don't add pages if you are not the original author.

Ballads

Songs or song-based stories; these can (and often are) put to music. Perhaps someday we'll be able to play them for you. Aspiring musicians: post your fantasy or sci-fi lyrics here for our enjoyment and critique.

Ballads are typically finished in one sitting, so unless the first posting states that the ballad is open, please do not add pages unless you are the original author.

Another one Bites the dust

Forward:

As the name, and if you don't realize it by reading this short story, implies it's based off (and includes the lyrics) of the Queen song Another one Bites the dust.

Steve walks warily down the street, brim pulled way down low. Ain’t no sound, but the sound his feet, machine gun’s ready to go.

Bedtime Story

Once upon a time,
in a lullaby far, far away --
the wicked witch died
and the beautiful princess
married her handsome prince.

The blissful pair rode off
on his snowflake stallion
to a remote castle in the sky
where no children were born,
in the silent, frozen edifice.

No servant would remain,
