RPG Gateway in Opera/Firefox

Help?

I've been looking at the horizontal scroll on the RPG Gateway home page since I first came around here, and now I'm finally going to mention it. Regular Smiley Here's what it looks like in Opera, which is what I use. The horizontal scroll bar is still there in Firefox, although the page isn't 2 feet wide. I broke out that crappy IE just now, and of course it looks perfect in that.

It'd be great if you could fix that. Regular Grin

It looks like that for me too. (I'm an opera user) The scrollbar has never bugged me. Now that little line in the graphic at the top annoys me no end.

Obviously your problem is Vista.
Don't you know that vista was designed to break all programs :P

More seriously, I use FireFox* and it displays ok for me.

What version of FireFox are you using? Version 2.0.0.9 just got released to fix some display bugs in version 2.0.0.8.

Another thing that I have seen happen is that a cached image becomes corrupt, and screws up display of pages for a site that uses it (and someimes other pages). The fix for that problem is empty browser cache, then close all windows for the browser and restart it.

If that doesn't work I'm not sure what the answer is. Regular Sad

* And other browsers like Seamonkey and Safari

that little line up top but darned if I know where it came from. As to the Opera, I've been working on transferring the Gateway to new software, but it seems like it's a never-ending process. I'm always finding the next bug that I have to fix before it can be done. I'll take a look at the template and see about making a quick change, which wouldn't show up until tomorrow.

If you run the page through the validator they'll tell you what a majority of the errors on it are, and some of these are what causes display differences.

Internet Explorer fixes bad code because it's an idiot browser. Firefox also fixes it, but leaves the scrollbar on the bottom so you know you've got a problem. Opera doesn't bother to fix author mistakes at all - it assumes you know what you're doing. That's why I usually code in Opera - it's very unforgiving, so it forces me to write clean code. Forum posting on IE 6 though is horrible on RPG Gateway.
The fill-in form gets pushed down so far that you have to scroll to reach it!
