5 Heroes at a Tavern Met

Five heroes at a tavern met,
treasure to find and blood to let.
A human knight, an elven mage,
a dwarf who didn't know his age -
two others joined them in this fight
for honor, duty and what was right.

Off they went to save fair maiden,
with swords and spells and packs all laden.
The hobbit was a ranger born,
who led them through thistle and thorn.
He brought them to the tower, where
the dragon stashed the maiden fair.

The doors were locked, no key in sight -
it seemed to be a dreadful plight.
But our gnomish thief did save the day;
he picked the lock to open the way.
Soon they saw the dragon fierce,
With scales to hard for swords to pierce.

They feared to see the dragon's breath,
For with it came their certain death.
Time for the mage to do his thing,
he twisted his protective ring.
And stepped forward his spell to cast,
with prayers it wouldn't be his last.

Success! The Dragon is held tight;
the Paladin begins his fight.
All of the party joins the fray,
staying out of the fireballs way.
In just eight rounds, the deed is done,
the dragon's dead, the fight is won.

Fair maiden smiled, clung to knight's arm,
as she told them she'd come to no harm.
The group divided the treasure,
Giving fair maiden full measure.
The dwarven cleric healed their pain,
and thanked his god for their gain.

Back to the town with inns they went,
And partied til their coin was spent.

One week past,
then at last,

five heroes at a tavern met,
treasure to find and blood to let.
